Case 01 · Global industrial equipment manufacturer

A faster, governed global close with far less Excel

  • Oracle FCC
  • Oracle EDM
  • Multi-GAAP
  • Multi-currency
  • SOX readiness
~40%faster close
~50%less Excel dependency
80%automated cash flow reporting
Weeks → hoursfor chart of accounts and hierarchy changes

The value

A faster, more governed close, with audit-ready cash flow statements that need minimal manual adjustment. Chart of accounts and hierarchy changes now deploy in hours rather than weeks, with full transparency.

The challenge

A legacy consolidation platform was carrying multi-GAAP, multi-currency reporting and complex intercompany eliminations, with heavy reliance on Excel. At the same time, a chart of accounts transformation was under way, raising data integrity risk and slowing the close.

What we did

  • Migrated consolidation to Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close: consolidations, cash flow and roll-forwards
  • Put hierarchies, mappings and the chart of accounts under governance in Oracle Enterprise Data Management
  • Automated data loads through API-based integration pipelines
  • Built in SOX readiness: audit trails, reconciliations and workflow approvals
  • Kept change management at the center: stakeholder engagement, train-the-trainer sessions and two parallel month-end tests before go-live
  • Ran a structured cutover with validation checkpoints, followed by hypercare

Case 02 · Global consumer e-commerce company

Near real-time P&L and automated executive reporting

  • Oracle EPM Cloud Planning
  • Workforce & CapEx
  • Strategic modeling
  • Narrative reporting
  • ERP integration
~20 hrssaved per quarter on executive and investor reporting

The value

Near real-time P&L reporting cut the time it took to reach decisions. Reporting by product and channel became possible for the first time, and workforce, CapEx and multi-currency planning improved.

The challenge

Manual data entry and validation were prone to error, and monthly reporting cycles were delaying decisions. Leadership could not see performance by product or channel. CapEx data was spread across systems, multi-currency reporting was cumbersome, and inconsistent product costing affected gross margin accuracy.

What we did

  • Moved on-premise planning to Oracle EPM Cloud, integrated with the ERP
  • Built a real-time P&L executive summary with drill-down by brand
  • Introduced a rolling 12-month forecast and a daily outlook
  • Added workforce, CapEx, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital forecasting
  • Delivered a three-statement strategic model with debt analysis and scenario management
  • Automated quarterly business review and investor-relations reporting
  • Delivered in agile sprints with design demos, retrospectives and hypercare

Case 03 · Manufacturing company

Excel-driven consolidation replaced with a governed, auditable close

  • Oracle FCC
  • ERP integration
  • Intercompany
  • FX translation
Excel → governedauditable close across sites, currencies and GAAP views

The value

Excel-driven processes were replaced with a governed, auditable close, with consolidated reporting at department, product and site level.

The challenge

The business needed standalone and consolidated balance sheet, income statement and cash flow under both GAAP and management views. It also needed intercompany eliminations, multi-currency translation and reporting at department, product and site level, all on processes still driven by Excel.

What we did

  • Implemented Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close for consolidation, journals and FX translation
  • Automated trial balance and FX rate loads from the ERP, and migrated history
  • Delivered consolidated P&L, KPI and Smart View reporting
  • Established journal security, audit trails and intercompany reconciliation
  • Ran an iterative delivery with frequent show-and-tell sessions, then hypercare

Case 04 · Automotive components manufacturer

Part- and supplier-level cost visibility for stronger supplier negotiations

  • Oracle EPM Planning
  • Cost modeling
  • Scenario modeling
  • Procurement analytics
Part × supplierraw material and surcharge visibility

The value

Finance and procurement gained a part- and supplier-level view of surcharge costs, giving them a fact base for supplier negotiations. The model was designed to grow into a total-cost-of-ownership view and to support tariff-related analysis of raw material origin.

The challenge

Raw material costs were tracked manually in Excel. Surcharges could not be traced through a multi-phase manufacturing process, supplier-specific surcharges (especially on castings) were invisible, and the impact of commodity price movements could not be simulated.

What we did

  • Designed a Material Cost Model in Oracle EPM Planning, capturing input costs, surcharges and index-based pricing by part number and supplier
  • Traced costs through the bill of materials
  • Enabled what-if modeling against forecast volumes and commodity indices
  • Worked across finance, purchasing and operations
  • Shaped a phased roadmap: material acquisition visibility first, then cost allocation, scrap, cycle times and total cost of ownership
